Erasmus + project: Personal Leadership ‘The Leader in Me’
Everyday teachers and parents put in their best efforts to try and motivate our pupils in regard to their studies. Despite the efforts, many pupils have a tendency to lose their motivation as they grow older. Many students struggle to balance work, family, school responsibilities; resolve relationship conflicts; set and achieve academic goals and maintain physical and emotional wellness. ‘The Leader in Me’ program teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of empowerment. It helps students learn how to become self-reliant, manage their emotions, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, interact well with others and develop the skills and self-confidence to successfully lead their lives. Content from ‘The Seven habits of Highly Effective People ‘ by S.R. Covey is a key component of the overall The Leader in Me process.
We are cooperating with the Marcel Koning organisation, a training institute in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Our partner schools are: Instituut Zusters Maricolen Maldegem, the Liceo Adria Ballatore Mazara del Vallo (Sicily), the Secondary school of economics and commerce Brezice (Slovenia), the Jugla Secondary School of Riga (Latvia), the Boyertown Junior High School West of Boyertown (USA), the Kallitehniko Gymnasio Geraka (Greece).
Erasmus+ project: exchange with Spain
A main objective is exploring business differences and similarities in both countries and within the European framework to boost pupils' sense of entrepreneurship. For the teachers the objective is to improve our entrepreneurship and English language education.
A final, essential objective is empowering our pupils on a personal level. We have observed that they are often insecure and not self-reliant enough. The project will help them broaden their mind and improve their competences and attitudes, thus helping them evolve into strong, self-reliant and competent individuals.
